55WA is a remodelling of a family home in Kingston. The clients brief was to design a sustainable home through the improvement of internal living spaces, with the addition of a rear and side extension, loft conversion and roof terrace. The sites generous plot lent itself to optimising the buildings potential and we worked hard to achieve this whilst conforming to strict local planning policy. The resulting design enjoys a sensitive street frontage with a more distinctive and contemporary addition to the rear, designed to complement the existing building.

The design also enjoys a number of sustainable measures, from biodiverse roofs, to carefully considered orientation, to the integration of an air source heat pump, to ensure the building not only looks aesthetically pleasing but is comfortable to live in and efficient to run too.
